Knitting A and E
24th April 2018, 2pm - 4pm

 

For all your Knitting accidents and emergencies! If you're stuck with a stitch or you've lost your way with a pattern, pop in to our Knitting A&E. We'll help you to get back on track or teach you how to do the stitches that are new to you. We hope to be able to hold this at least once a month, so dates will be advertised in the shop and online. We'll need to charge for time and expertise, but if it's up to 10 minutes it's just £3. If it's a bit more help you need, up to 20 minutes will be £6.50 And if you need more time, up to 30 minutes will be £10

Hand Embroidery
25th April 2018, 9:30am - 11:30pm

 

Learn all the basic hand embroidery stitches and produce a beautiful design in a hoop. Fabric, needle, threads and hoop included.

Sewing Club
25th April 2018, 1pm - 4pm

 

It's Sewing Club! All equipment provided, including a sewing machine! Just bring a project and have some time and space to enjoy sewing in a creative environment and with help at hand if you need it. If you really want to come along and sew but you're new to sewing or don't have a project, come and have a chat with us about ideas to get you started. We'll provide the tea and coffee! Places are limited. You can bring your own sewing machine if you wish to.

Quilt finishing techniques: Borders, binding and more
26th April 2018, 10am - 4pm

 

FULLY BOOKED! This workshop will give you some great new techniques for quilting, borders and binding to finish off your quilts. You are welcome to bring an unfinished quilt with you to gather some ideas, allowing you then to finish it at home. Fabric not included but you will be given a requirements list so you can bring your own choice of fabrics. *Please note: You can bring your own machine to this workshop provided it is in good working order or has been serviced recently. Alternatively you can loan a machine for an additional £10*

English Paper Piecing
15th May 2018, 9:30am - 11:30pm

 

Learn the technique of English Paper Piecing. It's a patchworking method done entirely by hand which means it's portable, uses up scraps of fabric and is wonderfully relaxing! Bring along some fabric and coordinating thread and we'll provide the paper templates to get you started.

Pom Pom Birds!
17th May 2018, 9:30am - 11:30pm

 

Learn to make these fun Pom Pom Birds! All you need is a pom pom maker, yarn and some small sharp scissors. You'll learn firstly how to make a simple pom pom, and then how to wrap the different colours of yarn to give you the right colours in the right areas of the pom pom. By learning this you can adapt the method to make all kinds of pom pom animals! We'll provide some yarn and felt scraps for the bird features.

Jelly Roll Quilt
18th May 2018, 10am - 4pm

 

ONE SPACE LEFT! This workshop will show you a brilliant way to create a quilt from a jelly roll. With your fabric already coordinated and cut into 2 1/2 inch strips you can begin to sew almost straight away. All you need is a jelly roll of your choice, sewing equipment and your machine! Fabric not included but you will be given a requirements list so you can bring your own choice of fabrics. *Please note: You can bring your own machine to this workshop provided it has been serviced in the last year. Alternatively you can loan a machine for an additional £10*

Beginners Tunisian Crochet
12th June 2018, 9:30am - 11:30pm

 

If you haven't tried Tunisian crochet, you should! It's fun and fast and you can create some great textures with just a small change to the simple stitch. If you know how to chain and double crochet then you're already half way there, and you're ready to learn Tunisian crochet! Yarn and hook provided, and we'll show you how to get started with a few variations of stitches.

Bookings are taken on a first come first serve basis and payment in full secures your place.
